Free-Range Grass-Fed Beef from Ridgefield Connecticut

apple-ridge farm hereford cattle

Apple Ridge Farm in Ridgefield Connecticut, raises local free-range grass-fed black angus beef cattle without hormones or steroids. The 15 acres of farmland at Old Stage Coach Road and Ridgebury Road was previously owned by the McKeon family and used as a dairy farm. It is now owned by the town. Our free-range black angus cattle are fed on all natural grass with no fertilizer or pesticides.

We have now also added free range laying chickens to our farm. The chickens are free to roam all of the 15 acres as they please. They keep the cows company and have the added benefit of reducing the cattle fly population. In return the cows offer the chickens protection from natural predators such as hawks and other animals. The chickens have taken to the hay bales in our barn to lay their eggs.

Thanks for your support.
